Library Class - One Word at a Time: Evaluate

Welcome to library class one word at a time. Our focus word today is evaluate. It means to carefully look at something and decide how good or useful it is.

We have talked briefly about the parts of a book and text features.  Why are these parts and features important to our reading and research?  These items help evaluate a  book or text. This information will help answer questions including but not limited to:

*Is the book fiction or nonfiction?

*Is this book something I want to read?

*Is this book good for my research topic?

We will continue to find out how parts of a book and text features help us as readers. Remember, use the library as much as you can. Until next time.
